Accepting Your Aid

Once you have been offered financial aid or scholarships, you can review your aid on your TAMIU Uconnect Account.

TAMIU Financial Aid Portal

Everything related to your financial aid at TAMIU can be viewed through our Financial Aid portal, accessed through your TAMIU Uconnect > My Records > Financial Aid. Please note that you will be prompted to authenticate yourself through your DUO account when accessing financial aid information on your UConnect Account.

Accept/Decline Your Aid

To receive your aid, you must accept your financial aid offers on our Financial Aid portal, which is accessed through your TAMIU Uconnect.

Please note:

  • You can accept, decline, or accept partial amounts. You must accept or decline all your awards.
  • You are accepting for both the fall and spring semesters.
  • Financial aid offers can contain various types of financial aid, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study eligibility.
  • If you are offered work-study, please note that you do not receive this money upfront. Work-study funds will be paid once you find a job, get hired, and work the required hours on campus.
  • Some aid may have state “eligibility” requirements and will not disburse until you have completed the requirements to receive these funds.

Acceptance of Grants Deadline
Students who are offered grants have a deadline by which they must accept them. Otherwise, funding cannot be guaranteed. Student can find the deadlines to accept their awards on their award letter.

Verification Process

Our university is federally obligated to verify all financial aid applicants that have been selected by the U.S. Department of Education for a process called verification.

If you are selected for verification, it will be indicated on your FAFSA Submission Summary when you submit your FAFSA. Please log in to Uconnect to view and submit the required documents necessary to complete the process.

TAMIU is required to complete this process prior to awarding aid.

Complete verification forms and documents will be submitted on Verify My FAFSA through the Uconnect portal.

How to create a Verify My FAFSA account

Please note that your FAFSA may require corrections based on the information you provide, which could impact your financial aid award package. Additional steps may be necessary after submitting your FAFSA.

Confirm Your Housing Intent

If the housing arrangement on your financial aid offer differs from where you will be living (on-campus, off-campus, or at home), you must email the Financial Aid Office. Please note that a change in housing arrangements will change your cost of attendance, and your financial aid offer may be adjusted if necessary. Supporting documentation may be requested. Please allow 7-10 business days for the housing change to be processed.

Check Your TAMIU Email

If you have outstanding requirements, we will email your TAMIU email address.

Need Forms?

If a form is required, download it from the Financial Aid Forms website.

Submitting Documents & Paperwork
Outstanding documents must be processed by our office for aid to disburse. We encourage you to submit your financial aid paperwork by priority deadlines to ensure your aid pays before the term’s payment deadline. Documents submitted after the deadline will still be processed, but students should make other payment arrangements to avoid a late payment fee or being dropped for non-payment after census date.
