Accessibility Support Services
The following accessibility services are available for students:
- Infobase Learning Cloud video service
- All TAMIU students have access to closed captioned videos on various training topics, from courses on soft skills (plagiarism, citing, interviewing skills, etc.) to technical skills (courses on Adobe Suite, Blackboard, Word, Excel, SPSS, etc.).
- For access, Infobase Learning Cloud may be found in Uconnect or Blackboard resources.
- Media Transcription: We can provide accurate transcriptions of audio and video media to ensure that all students can access and understand course content.
- Screen Reader Activation: We can assist in setting up and activating screen readers to support visually impaired students, enabling them to navigate and interact with digital content effectively.
- Accessible Blackboard Content and Documents: We can help make Blackboard content and documents accessible by ensuring they meet the necessary accessibility standards. This includes formatting documents for screen readers, adding alternative text for images, and structuring content for easy navigation.
- Video Captioning: We can create precise captions for videos to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring that video content is accessible to all.
For accessibility accommodations beyond the scope of Instructional Technology and Distance Education Services, we work closely with Disability Services for Students to accommodate the needs of students.
