Instructional Technology Excellence Award
The Instructional Technology Excellence Award (formerly the Distance Educator of the Year Award) is presented to a faculty member who has exemplified the use of technology in their teaching. The award recipient is chosen from a group of nominees by the DEITC using the following criteria:
- Integrates the use of technology in the teaching and learning process
- Use of technology in creative and effective ways to facilitate student learning
- Implements student-focused, learning-oriented innovations, and/or project-based learning activities using technology
- Inspires and works collaboratively with others
- Addresses the various types of learners including those with disabilities
- Seamlessly integrates TAMIU’s Learning Management System (LMS) to support his/her teaching to actively engage students
- Actively pursues avenues for personal continuous improvement to facilitate the uses of technology
