The TAMIU Student Government Association was established to provide an officially recognized student representative body, to provide an official voice of the student body of the University, promote the rights of each student of the University, promote student participation in the overall policy and decision-making processes of the University, promote awareness of the students’ role in the academic community, provide new ways of involvement, and overall enhance the quality and scope of education at the University.
Modeled after the United States government, the undergraduate student government, SGA, is comprised of three separate branches: the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch. Working harmoniously, these entities provide an unmatched co-curricular experience for TAMIU students.

Get your feet wet by participating in the SGA Freshman Representative Council.
the SGA Freshmen Representative Council, consists of freshmen leaders who will represent their freshmen class. The Councils purpose is to teach freshmen leaders how to work around their way through the university in collaboration, with Student Government Association. The Freshmen Representative Council (FRC) will also learn how to govern and how to approach university students concerns.
