January 2023 - New Year
The Office of Global Initiatives welcomed the New Year participating in meetings with different local and regional organizations.
January 30-31, 2023 - Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León professors visit TAMIU
The Office of Global Initiatives hosted a group of 20 professors from the Law School of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (U.A.N.L) on January 30-31st. The group participated in an International Executive Seminar on Educational Leadership.
March 8, 2023 - Panel Discussion with Women Leaders
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center invites you to a Panel Discussion with Women Leaders in the areas of Education, International Business, Law and Healthcare.
March 23, 2023 - Empowered- A Workshop on Binational Entrepreneurship
The Office of Global Initiatives together with International Empowerement Strategies LLC presented the first Empowered workshop. The first worskhop titled Binational Entrepreneurship which focused on how to start your own business and how to do business in the United States.
March 28, 2023 - Students from the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas visit TAMIU
The Office of Global Initiatives received a group of 60 students and professors from the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas' (U.A.T.) School of Commerce, Administration and Social Sciences in Nuevo Laredo. The students participated in the first International Executive Seminar (IES) where they were able to listen to different presenters on varied topics such as cryptocurrencies and the impact of technology in the logistics industry.
April 1, 2023 - The Office of Global Initiatives Present at Discover TAMIU
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center and the International Language Institute participated with a booth at Discover TAMIU.
May 5, 2023 - Book Presentation: "Misión Consular en Laredo"
Mexican Consul General to Laredo, Texas, Ambassador Juan Carlos Mendoza Sánchez presented his book titled "Misión Consular en Laredo". Present at the event were representatives of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in San Antonio as well as local historians and professors.
May 17, 2023 - Binational Academic Group Meeting
The first Binational Academic Group meeting was hosted by the Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center at Texas A&M International University. The group met with Ambassador Juan Carlso Mendoza Sanchez, Consul General of Mexico in Laredo, Texas. The members of the Binational Academic Group include Rene Salinas, Director of the School of Commerce, Administration and Social Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas in Nuevo Laredo; Abiu González Ixba, Director of TecMilenio, Nuevo Laredo Campus; Iliana Castillo Garcia, Director of the Instituto Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo; and Dr. Horacio Salinas, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences of Laredo College.
September 5, 2023 - MOA Signing with Universidad Politécnica de Altamira
TAMIU signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Universidad Politécnica Altamira (UPALT). The agreement was signed by Dr. Pablo Arenaz, TAMIU President and Dr. Ricardo Ramos, Rector of the UPALT. This collaboration agreement seeks to strengthen educational ties between our institutions and our ports.
September 7-8, 2023 - Seminar: Our Regional Industry in the Global Arena
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center hosted a two day seminar with former Mexican Ambassador to the United States Gerónimo Gutiérrez who shared with the audience ideas and strategies to strengthen our binational region. On the second day Ambassador Gutierrez shared the stage in a round table discussion with Brian Quigley, from the Department of State, Oscar Magaña from the Department of Commerce, Glafiro Montemayor from GEMCO and Mario Palos, from Palos Garza.
September 12, 2023 - Binational Art Exhibit
The Office of Global Initiatives hosted the openning ceremony of the VIII Binational Art Exhibition with the Mexican Consulate General in Laredo, Texas. The exhibit will be at the Zaffirini Student Success Center throughout the month of September.October 19, 2023 - International Executive Seminar
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center offered an International Executive Seminar to a group of Computer Systems Engineering students from the Technological Institute of Nuevo Laredo (ITNL).
November 7, 2023 - International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) Tajikistan
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center presented to the International Visitors Leadership (IVLP) Group from Tajikistan that was visiting Laredo and Texas A&M International University to learn more about Border Security – Manpower, Technology, and Infrastructure. During their visit the group was able to meet with several federal, state and local agencies.
November 10, 2023 - International Executive Seminar Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center organized an International Executive Seminar (IES) for a group of students and professors from different majors from the School of of Commerce, Administration and Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (U.A.T. for its name in Spanish) in Nuevo Laredo.
November 8, 2023 - Transforming Leaders Dinner Tecmilenio Nuevo Laredo
The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center was presenta at the annual Transforming Leaders Dinner. Different companies were recognized for their work in the community and their commitment to social development.
December 8, 2023 - Universidad Politécnica de Altamira (UPALT) Campus Visit
Representatives from the Universidad Politécnica de Altamira (UPALT) visited our campus to discuss the development of different projects related to the MOA that was recently signed between our institutions.
