• January 2020 - Office of Global Initiatives at a New Location
  

The Office of Global Initiatives moved to Lamar Bruni Vergara Science Center Room #301.

• February 2020 - International Visitors Delegation

On February 22 a delegation of diplomats from Latin American and European countries visited The Office of Global Initiatives / TAMIU . Maria Eugenia Calderón-Porter, Assistant VP for Global Initiatives gave the dignitaries a presentation on the binational community of Laredo, Texas and its importance as the world’s largest inland port.

The Office of Global Initiatives / Binational Center / International Language Institute participated at the Discover TAMIU 2020 event. 

• March 11, 2020 - Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance Visit
  

The Office of Global Initiatives, the College of Education, and President Dr. Pablo Arenaz met with Dr. Khalifa A. Al Suwaidi, representative of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to discuss possible new projects.  

• October - November 2020 - Comparative Criminology Seminar

The Office of Global Initiatives together with the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León  (U.A.N.L.) held a comparative criminology seminar for law and criminology students of the U.A.N.L.  The presenters included local and regional practitioners from the District Attorney's Office, the Municipal Court, as well as the Laredo Police Department.
