Upon graduating from our program, our students will be:

• Musicians with the highest performing skills possible, capable of making critical decisions toward effective communication to their students and audience.

• Musicians who are trained to think critically and incorporate the diverse elements of their training into their musical endeavors.

Degree Plans

TAMIU offers 3 undergraduate degrees in music plus a minor. For details on these degrees, click on the links below. An audition is required for all major degree plans as well as the minor.

• Bachelor of Music Education (131 credits) You want to become certified to teach music K-12.
• Bachelor of Music in Performance (120 credits) You are considering continuing on for a Masters degree in music.
• Bachelor of Arts in Music with Double Major (120 credits) You want a liberal arts experience in two areas of interest, an attractive quality employers desire.
• Music Minor (18 credits) You want to stay involved in music with a major in another area.
