John Reimund

Mr. Reimund was a member of the United States Military Academy Band, West Point, New York, and he was a founding member of the Regimental Brass Quintet which represented West Point. He performed and soloed with numerous groups in the Hudson Valley including the Hudson Valley Opera Company Orchestra and the Reinbeck Band. Mr. Reimund was also principle tubist with the Amarillo Symphony, and performed with the Amarillo Symphony Brass Quintet.
Mr. Reimund was a finalist in the International ITEC Tuba Solo Competition in 1986. He has performed as soloist with the West Texas A&M University Band, Texas A&M International University, Laredo Community College, Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra, Henderson State University, Del Mar College and Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. He was also a guest artist solo performer for the South Central Tuba/Euphonium Conference in Corpus Christi, TX in 2009 and Edinburg, TX in 2017.
John Reimund has been a music instructor at VMT for over twenty years where he oversees the low brass studies. His students have received numerous awards, and many have pursued successful careers in music education and performance. His other duties include conducting the VMT Wind Ensemble, the VMT Philharmonic Orchestra, the Conical Con-X-ion (low brass ensemble), and music director for the VMT Summer Musical Project. Mr. Reimund was one of the recipients of the Arts and Digital Literacy Initiative Technology Grant given by the Texas Cultural Trust in 2017. He also serves as a Dual Enrollment college music theory professor for the Laredo Independent School District and the Laredo Community College.
Mr. Reimund works with the arts community in Laredo and South Texas as an advocate for the performing arts and area students.
