Faculty Resources

ACE offers resources for faculty to support academic learning in the classroom. Through Early Alert, Supplemental Instruction and other programs, ACE supports your teaching experiences.

Supplemental Instruction Support

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is intended to support traditionally challenging courses by placing an SI Leader to tutor students, both in and outside of class through weekly study sessions. SI Leaders are trained student tutors who have previously taken the class and earned a high grade in the course. SI Leaders are assigned to select courses through faculty’s request and based on availability. Generally, request for an SI Leader can take up to four weeks to process, so faculty are encouraged to submit their request as early as possible prior to the start of the semester.

ACE Transition Program Presentation

Request an ACE staff to present information about the ACE Transition Program. This program covers topics such as:

  • Studying skills
  • Self-care
  • Time management

  • Growth mindset
  • Sleeping habits
  • Cultivating a sense of belonging

  • Accessing academic resources

Early Alert (Inspire alert)

Early Alert, done through Inspire Alerts, is a proactive, student-centered system of communication between faculty, academic success coaches, and students. Early Alert is designed to be used when additional resources are needed after faculty intervention. It is not intended to replace communication between faculty and student.

When you submit an Inspire Alert it is received by your student designated academic success coach, they can then identify, reach-out, and provide support the student. This communication provides vital support and assistance, which is not disciplinary in nature.
