Mission statement
The Texas A&M International University’s Honors and Undergraduate Research Program seeks to provide TAMIU’s students with the highest levels of academic achievement with the opportunity to thrive and challenge themselves to their fullest potential. Honors students will work closely with a university faculty mentor in their chosen academic major on research projects, conference presentations, leadership development, and community engagement.

Each honors student is committed to completing the following terms:
- Submit their Financial Aid application each Academic Year. (FAFSA, TASFA, Mexican Tuition Waiver).
- Maintain an institutional GPA of 3.2
- Be a full-time student (12 SCH) each semester.
- Complete an approved research assignment/paper/project with your honors faculty mentor each semester or each year. (When applicable, follow all IRB protocols throughout the research process.)
- Complete 30 hours of community services each academic year through TAMIU Office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement.
- Complete two (2) TAMIU Trailblazer learning dimensions.
