Mission Statement

The mission of the TAMIU Honor Council is to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, foster a culture of honesty and ethical conduct, and promote fairness and trust within the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) community. Through education, advocacy, and enforcement, we strive to empower students to embrace integrity, demonstrate respect for intellectual property, and embody the values of honesty, responsibility, and ethical behavior in all aspects of their academic endeavors. By promoting a culture of honor and integrity, we aim to uphold the reputation and academic excellence of TAMIU and nurture an environment where integrity is valued and celebrated.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Actively attend all training sessions and meetings
• Participate in the development and implementation of Honor Council programs for students
• Become knowledgeable about all aspects of the Honor Code and Student Code of Conduct policies and procedures
• Place membership on the Honor Council as a top priority behind academics
• Act as an effective, active, cooperative, respectful and ethical group member and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Must serve as an educator of the Honor Code and Student Code of Conduct
• Abide by all University member conduct policies and local, state, and federal laws
