Service

Our office engages students, faculty, and staff to volunteer and serve in the community through a variety of programs and activities. We encourage citizenship and strong communities by building partnership within TAMIU, with public, nonprofit community-based organizations, and governmental institutions.

"I love to volunteer by teaching my catechism class because it allows me to share knowledge, inspire young minds, and make a positive impact on the spiritual growth of others."

"I'm deeply involved in community service, finding joy in annual events like The Big Event and Make a Difference Day. Since I became a Team Leader in Fall 2022, I've remained dedicated to the role, now heading into my fourth term. Helping others is my way of repaying the support I received from my community while growing up."

I'm proud to be a Dustdevil, so giving back to the TAMIU community is very rewarding. One of my favorite volunteer experiences was participating in the installation of the Rhizome, a large-scale art project led by Artist and Visiting Assistant Professor Crystal Wagner. This multidisciplinary collaboration between faculty, students, and the community blends music, art, dance, theater, and humanities into an immersive experience.
