RN-MSN Nursing Administration

Nursing Graduation Candidates

Program Information:
This program is for nurses who hold an associate degree in nursing and who want to obtain a masters degree in Nursing Administration bypassing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Due to the increasing demand for masters prepared Nursing Administrators in health care settings, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers this degree through an online format.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Critically analyze, interpret and utilize appropriate knowledge, research and theories to meet the health care needs of diverse client populations across the lifespan.
  2. Collaboratively plan the delivery of culturally sensitive health care with organizations and the community.
  3. Contribute to the advancement of nursing profession through evidenced-based research and practice.
  4. Synthesize the leadership management, negotiating, teaching/coaching and consulting roles to foster continual improvement in order to meet changing societal and environmental needs.
  5. Operationalize ethical, legal, political, and economic principles in application to management of health care delivery across the lifespan.
  6. Advocate for advanced nursing practice through a commitment to lifelong learning and community service.

Program Requirements:

  • Completed an associate nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Successful completion of required undergraduate nursing course work at TAMIU.
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate statistics course.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA for admittance.
  • Valid RN license without restrictions in the State of Texas.
  • No nursing experience required for admission.
  • Required proof of medical insurance, immunizations, and criminal/drug screening data submitted through Verified Credentials at expense of student.
  • TAMIU-specific code to enter Verified Credentials is given after admission application is processed.
