Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program-Engineering and Science Improvement and Retention Enhancement (MSEIP-ESIRE) aims to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education and improve STEM Education in the first two years of college.
About US
The Program utilizes innovative outreach and retention activities to increase the number of minority students, attaining engineering degrees. MSEIP-ESIRE consist of activities developed by Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) including outreach and enrichment workshops, experiential training, student mentoring, and faculty professional development.Our Mission
- To provide first-generation, underrepresented students especially females with opportunities to succeed and earn engineering and science degrees
- To provide vigorous and cost-effective outreach and retention activities to all school and university students
Our Goals
- Increase the number of Hispanic and minority students, particularly females, attaining engineering and science degrees
- Increase the production of a continuous stream of highly competent and well-qualified minority engineers for South Texas and beyond
