Funding: Department of Defense (DoD) Research and Education Program for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions Equipment/Instrumentation.
Amount: $307,795
Summary: The Center of Earth and Environmental Studies (CEES) was awarded a DoD grant to develop a high-end dual Linux and PC computational platform to support research. Areas that will be supported include: Systems and Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, and Geosciences. This project will serve as a catalyst to propel research at TAMIU across these STEM fields. The results of these efforts will also translate in terms of building skills and offering advanced educational opportunities to minority students at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels.
