TAMIU’s All Majors Career Fair Held

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) students, graduates, and community members were able to explore career options at the Fall 2024 All Majors Fair held Oct. 23  at the Student Center Ballroom. 

Over 25 employers attended the Career Fair hosted by TAMIU’s Career Services.

Employers present at the Fair included the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Border Region Behavioral Health Center, Bureau of Land Management, Community Action Corporation of South Texas, Dallas Police Department, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, H-E-B, the Laredo Independent School District, the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, Texas Parks and Wildlife, United Independent School District, and others.

During the Fair, employers discussed current hiring needs, qualifications for job openings, required certifications, and were available to answer any job-related questions.

Attendees brought  copies of their updated resumes and prepared a 30-second “elevator pitch.”  Individuals dressed business-professional as job recruiters were conducting on-site interviews.

TAMIU’s Career Services offers services including creating resumes and cover letters, practicing interviewing skills, and access to Handshake, an employment tool. Services are available to prospective and current students, and University alumni.

This year, a series of workshops focused on career readiness were offered to current University students. Workshop topics included reviewing resumes, dressing for success, professional networking, mock interviewing, and more.
