Faculty Mentorship

Welcome to TAMIU’s Faculty Mentoring Program. Effective faculty mentoring plays a crucial role in advancing both early career and senior faculty through dedicated support in teaching, research, and engagement. This program is committed to creating an academic environment that emphasizes collaboration and engagement, helping faculty members feel fundamental to our community.

TAMIU's Faculty Mentoring Program is dedicated to supporting the success of our faculty members through four principles:

  1. Mentorship is a collaborative process drawing upon the knowledge of senior faculty who can provide guidance.
  2. Mentorship should aim to help junior faculty acquire the key elements and professional relationships at TAMIU and beyond that are necessary to develop academic advancement.
  3. Mentorship will involve the traditional dyadic relationship and will also be enhanced by providing additional professional development at the institutional level.
  4. Mentorship is an ongoing relationship and as such, mentoring will evolve over time and will shift to depending on professional milestones and the career stage of junior faculty.

In accordance with SB 17, Texas A&M International University does not require as a condition of performing any institution function any person to participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training.
