TAMIU Observes Juneteenth Holiday
In historic action today, President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act establishing June 19 as a national holiday.
In recognition of the historic nature of this event, The Texas A&M University System and its members, including Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), will also observe this holiday.
"This is a special day that originated in Texas and we're proud to honor it," said A&M System Chancellor John Sharp.
University offices and services will close Friday, June 19 and reopen Monday, June 21 at 8 a.m.
