TAMIU Celebrates International Education Week Nov. 18 – 22
In honor of International Education Week (IEW), Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Office of International Experiences is hosting a week filled with international-themed events for its students.
Events are planned daily, starting Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22. All events are open to currently enrolled TAMIU students.
The week’s lineup includes:
Monday, Nov. 18 – IEW Proclamation, 12 – 1 p.m., Student Center (STC) Rotunda; Market Your International Experience by Career Services, 2 – 3 p.m., STC 114, and an International Dance Class by REC Sports, 5:30 p.m., REC 226.
Tuesday, Nov. 19 – Study Abroad 101, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., STC 120; I Studied Abroad: Ask Me Anything!, 12 – 1 p.m., STC 120; Cultural Festival, 2 – 3 p.m., STC Rotunda, and a Ticket to Ride, 4 – 5 p.m., STC 120.
Wednesday, Nov. 20 – First Gen: First to Go Abroad, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., STC 230; Ticket to Ride, 1 – 2 p.m., STC 230; International Leadership Series – International Student Experiences, 3:20 – 4:20 p.m., Academic Innovation Center (AIC) 128, and an International Dance Class by REC Sports, 5:30 p.m., REC 226.
Thursday, Nov. 21 – Study Abroad Sneak-Peek, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC) Lobby; Discover Exchange Opportunities, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., STC 120, and F-1: Ready. Set. Hire!, 3 – 4 p.m., STC 114.
Friday, Nov. 22 – Passport Day, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., ZSC 206; Guess the Flag, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., STC 231, and Virtual Study Abroad Info Session, 12 – 1 p.m.
A student essay contest will also take place throughout IEW. For more information on making a submission, visit https://go.tamiu.edu/iew-essay - the submission form opens Monday, Nov. 18 and closes Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Additionally, TAMIU students can also have their own mock passport stamped for attending IEW events. Collect at least four stamps for an opportunity to win a prize. Mock passports can be picked up at ZSC 206.

Registration for TAMIU’s Wintermester and Spring 2025 courses is underway online via Uconnect.
TAMIU Spring 2025 classes begin Jan. 21, 2025. Late registration begins Jan. 21 at 8 a.m. and continues through Monday, Jan. 27 at 11:59 p.m.
