Welcome to the TAMIU Next Level Engineering (NLE) Professional Development Workshops page! Our workshops are designed to meet the holistic needs of engineering students, faculty, and staff by offering focused and practical training sessions. These workshops aim to provide transferable skills that will help TAMIU engineering students excel in their academic and professional careers.
Workshop Tracks
Our workshops are organized into three distinct tracks:
- Quantitative Tools
- Objective: Equip students and faculty with the latest quantitative tools and software.
- Topics: Advanced MATLAB Functions, MasterCAM, Automation Studio, Robotics Demonstrations, Library Research Skills and more.
- Format: Primers on new technology and software, facilitated by NLE funded graduate assistants, SOEN faculty members and external guest speakers.
- Core Competencies
- Objective: Strengthen fundamental engineering skills and competencies.
- Topics: Engineering problem-solving, project management, technical writing, effective communication and more.
- Format: Interactive sessions with practical applications.
- Professional Growth and Community Building
- Objective: Enhance the professional skills and foster a supportive community within the engineering field.
- Topics: Graduate school preparation, teamwork, leadership development, building a collaborative work environment and more.
- Format: Workshops led by industry experts, featuring interactive sessions and group activities.
