Checklist for Texas A&M International University
- Apply and be accepted to the University.
- Complete the VA Application on Va.gov.
- Request your military transcript:
- Joint Service Transcript (Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard)
- Air Force Transcripts
- If previously enrolled in any other institution, request institution's transcript.
- Submit required documents for VA benefit Certification on Document Submission Portal.

Benefit Information
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
This benefit provides up to 36 months of education benefits, generally, benefits are payable for 15 years following your release from active duty. The Post-9/11 GI Bill® also offers some service members the opportunity to transfer their GI Bill® to dependents.

Additional Information
Generally, the Post 9/11 GI Bill® provides benefits for up to 36 months. Veterans are limited to a total of 48 months of combined VA education benefits. Veterans who transfer Montgomery GI Bill® benefits to the Post 9/11 program are limited to the amount of months remaining from their Montgomery GI Bill® benefit.
Individuals are generally eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill® benefits for 15 years after the veteran's last day of active duty, following at least 90 continuous days of active duty.
