We provide one-on-one confidential business advising services.
The services of the TAMIU SBDC are open to anyone who currently owns a business or is interested in starting a business. Business advising is provided at NO CHARGE. TAMIU SBDC advisors provide their clients with targeted research assistance through the SBDC National Information Clearinghouse. This program provides research data, analysis, and web-based information that enables SBDC clients to make sound business decisions.
Our advising services include but are not limited to:
Developing a Business Plan, Financial Analysis, Managing Cash Flow, Market Planning and Research, Financing Alternatives, Accounting Basics, Budgeting and Reporting, Business Taxes, Import/Export Opportunities, New Product Development, Franchising Opportunities, Government Contracting, Human Resources, Customer Service, etc.
Training
The SBDC training is specifically designed to provide new and established entrepreneurs with business guidance, tools on how to enhance their business skills, and loan packaging assistance. Training workshops range from marketing strategies, skills for new supervisors and basic computer training like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and QuickBooks.
In addition, the SBDC offers an extensive catalog of online training courses that you can take directly from your own computer. You may find more information regarding our web-based training by selecting the 'online' option in the left-side menu.
Workshops
TAMIU's SBDC offers workshops, conferences, and courses geared to the needs of small businesses. Training programs range from advanced seminars aimed at experienced small business owners to introductory courses for those planning to start a business.
The SBDC also, develops and conducts specialized programs to meet specific needs. Working with business professionals and other small business assistance organizations, the SBDC provides managers, owners, and potential owners with the tools to analyze and resolve business problems.
