Dr. Claudia E. San Miguel is the Provost & VP For Academic Affairs and Professor of Criminal Justice at Texas A&M International University. She obtained her Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University and has extensive experience in field research and working with students on funded research projects. Dr. Claudia E. San Miguel will be providing direction and leadership to make TAMIU’s USTEM Program very successful.

Dr. Marcus A. Ynalvez
Marcus A. Ynalvez is a Professor of Sociology at Texas A&M International University with extensive knowledge of STEM mentoring practice and management of federally funded research projects. His research interests include quantitative methodology, statistics and probability, sampling survey designs, social inequality and stratification, social change and globalization, social networks, social research methods, sociology of science and technology, medical sociology, and sociology of health and illness.

Dr. Ruby A. Ynalvez
Ruby A. Ynalvez is a Professor of Biology at Texas A&M International University. Her research interests include protein isolation and purification, gene identification and characterization, and graduate mentoring practices. Dr. Ruby Ynalvez has extensive experience teaching undergraduate Biology courses, mentoring students, grant management skills, and will lead the biology and chemistry programmatic activities.

Dr. Deepak Ganta
Deepak Ganta is an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Texas A&M International University. He received his Ph.D. in Photonics from Oklahoma State University Main. His research interests include soft robotics, green energy conversion and storage, wearable optoelectronics, nanotechnology, electronic textiles, 2D materials, and advanced materials analysis. Dr. Deepak Ganta will be leading the engineering programmatic activities.

Dr. Runchang Lin
Runchang Lin is a Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M International University. He received his Ph.D. from Wayne State University and has extensive experience working with grants to promote STEM education among minority students at TAMIU. Dr. Runchang Lin is also the Director of Mathematics and a Graduate Advisor. His research interests include numerical analysis of partial differential equations, applied mathematics, numerical linear algebra, and combinatorial optimization. Dr. Runchang Lin will be leading the mathematics programmatic activities.

Angela Marcela Moran is an Associate Professor of Communication and professional filmmaker at Texas A&M International University. Her research interests include migration/immigration, border landscape and bi-cultural issues, and border identity. She will be working closely with the discipline specific Co-Principal Investigators to provide hands-on instruction of video production to USTEM participants.
