 TAMIU AIRES Shares Innovative Incubatorship Team Projects April 1 - 3

A glimpse into a future of streamlined small business transactions, mobile applications to harvest ecological data, and holistic resources to report border-crossing traffic will be presented by students of the Texas A&M International University Academic and Industry Readiness in Engineering and Science (TAMIU AIRES) Project’s AIRES Incubatorship Project  April 1 – 3 at TAMIU.

The event presentations are open to all and free of charge.

Three student teams will present their innovative applications as follows:

  1. ReferredBy Team
    Mentored by Dr. Elvira Teran
    Date: April 1
    Time: 3:30 - 5:00 PM
    Location: Academic Innovation Center (AIC)  127
    The ReferredBy team application connects customers with service providers. The platform aims to streamline service transactions, helping small businesses thrive in local communities.

    2. Wild Snap Team
    Mentored by Dr. Vijayan Sundararaj
    Date: April 3
    Time: 9:00 - 10:30 AM
    Location: AIC 126
    The Wild Snap team’s mobile application empowers citizens to record ecological data. This includes images, species details, and location data to contribute to research and environmental monitoring via a shared data platform.

    3. CrossView Team
    Mentored by Dr. Mustafa Al Lail
    Date: April 3
    Time: 1:00 - 2:30 PM
    Location: AIC 127
    The CrossView team’s application provides a holistic resource for accurate border-crossing traffic information. Key features include A.I.-enhanced wait time analysis, toll-collection service management, and enhanced accessibility through CarPlay/Android Auto and mobile widgets.

TAMIU AIRES is a five-year grant benefiting from a $3 million grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Title V to provide academic support services and career readiness training to upper-level undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degree programs.
