TAMIU PR Office Medals in National Educational Digital Marketing Awards
ATLANTA, GA -- Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services (PRMIS) has been named multiple award recipients in the national 12th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards celebrating outstanding achievements in digital marketing within the education sector.
Colleges, universities, and secondary schools from across the nation submitted entries evaluated by a panel of judges including education marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals. Over 1000 entries from across the nation were received.
TAMIU’s PRMIS earned seven national awards:
Gold Award – Microsite, Fall Preview dedicated website.
Silver Awards – Digital Special Video, Profiles in Research video; Digital Video Ad, TAMIU Fall Registration recruitment video; Social Media Content-Campaign, “Dusty’s Glow Up Campaign.”
Bronze Awards – Digital Advertising, Social Media Fall advertising; Total Digital Marketing Program, SafeZone Launch Campaign.
Merit Award – Microsite, TAMIU Lucky Ducky Campaign website.
TAMIU’s PRMIS director Steve Harmon said the Education Digital Marketing Awards are a welcome affirmation of the TAMIU PR team’s strong creativity, drive, innovation, passion and teamwork.
“The creativity, drive, innovation, passion and teamwork this team demonstrates daily drives our efforts to constantly find new and engaging ways to share the University’s mission and story across multiple platforms. From microsites on the web to public engagement events like “Release the Quacken,” which saw us flood the campus with hundreds of rubber ducks to celebrate our enrollment growth-- or our “Dusty’s Glow-Up” campaign, presenting the University’s new mascot...the team’s energetic efforts drive positive engagement, recruitment, retention, as well as community perception and partnership. It is a pleasure to work with these talented professionals,” Harmon said.
Leading the PRMIS team alongside Harmon are Mika Akikuni, associate director of marketing; Ana P. Clamont, creative director and brand manager; Alejandra Covarrubias, administrative associate; Michael Gutiérrez, coordinator of web initiatives; Joshua González, communications specialist; José G. Hernández, III, communications specialist; Christine Rojas, manager, social media and communications; Rolando Santos, video and photographic coordinator; Ana Vargas, director of digital media; Marco E. Villarreal, publications and graphic design specialist; Georgina Zamudio, graphic designer, and Keyla Rodríguez, student worker and December ’24 candidate for graduation.

Registration for TAMIU’s Wintermester and Spring 2025 courses is underway online via Uconnect.
TAMIU Spring 2025 classes begin Jan. 21, 2025. Late registration starts Jan. 21 at 8 a.m. through Monday, Jan. 27 at 11:59 p.m.
