Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is ranked #18 among the Top 50 Colleges and Universities for Hispanic Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by non-profit organization Calculus Roundtable.

TAMIU stands out as one of only two universities in The Texas A&M University System to make the Calculus Roundtable's list, joining an exceptional group of institutions committed to providing quality educational opportunities for Hispanic students in STEM.

Calculus Roundtable developed a comprehensive rubric to evaluate universities using universities from its previous top universities lists and universities submitted via student survey. Universities were scored on based on being a Hispanic Serving Institution, having secured a Seal of Excelencia, the total Hispanic student population, tuition, average financial aid coverage, Hispanic student graduation rate, and the percentage of degrees conferred on STEM majors.

Five categories were graded on a scale of 0-4 and two on a score 0-1. After each school was graded, the score determined what the rank for each school would be; with some additional factors such as their rank on the 2022 list and reputation.

TAMIU joins other ranked universities including Florida International University; California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; University of California, Riverside; San Diego State University; City College of New York, University of Texas at Austin, New Mexico State University;, California State University, Sacramento, and the University of Texas at El Paso.

Calculus Roundtable is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing alternative pathways to math and science skills for students. It provides support, data analysis, and professional development for teachers and community members in 46 schools, 27 districts, five county offices of education, and three municipal library systems.

Its award-winning supplemental classroom and after-school program, The Digital One Room Schoolhouse, gives elementary, middle, and high school students access to STEM-based hands-on and online curriculum that challenges and engages thousands of students.
