Free Performances of Shakespeare's Plays Held at TAMIU
The iconic words of world-renowned playwright William Shakespeare once again enchanted audiences at Texas A&M International University's (TAMIU) Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.
The Bard's quintessential tale of tragedy, "Hamlet," was performed Wednesday, Oct. 16. The performance was free of charge and open to the public. On Tuesday, "Shakespeare's Greatest Hits" bowed.
Both performances featured the traveling cast of the Kilgore College-based Texas Shakespeare Festival's (TSF) Roadshow. This is the third year that TSF has presented Shakespeare performances at TAMIU.
Spearheaded by TAMIU assistant professor of English Dr. Kaitlyn M. Culliton, the performances were made possible by TAMIU's College of Arts and Sciences. The production has also benefited from the generous support of artist accommodations and stays by La Posada Hotel.
