TAMIU Dining Ranked in Top Ten for ‘Best College Food in Texas’

As Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) students see this Spring semester draw to a close, they’ll want to celebrate with delicious food from the University’s Aramark Dining Services. 

That’s because Niche, a ranking authority, has listed TAMIU in the Top Ten for its “2024 Best College Food in Texas.”  TAMIU Ranked No. 7.

TAMIU competed Statewide for the honor, besting other schools including public and private institutions. TAMIU topped the University of Houston (No. 8), Texas A&M University (No. 9), Lubbock Christian University (No.10), and the University of Texas-El Paso (No.11). 

TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz said having great food on campus is important for all members of the University community, and the community at large.

“Great food is great fuel and it drives our academic, research, and outreach pursuits forward every day.  We salute our Aramark Dining Services provider and thank our culinary staff for their commitment to high-quality meals and first-rate service for our campus community and our community at large,” Dr. Arenaz said. 

In sharing news of the announcement, TAMIU director of Food Services Carlos Rodríguez said the recognition is made possible through the dedication and hard work of the entire food services crew. 

“We have a remarkable dining staff serving TAMIU that includes Cordon Bleu of Culinary Arts, Culinary Institute of America, and Laredo College Culinary School-trained chefs and support staff, some of whom have been with us for decades.  It is their dedication that we celebrate, making this ranking possible,” Rodríguez said. 

The event also served to recognize two outstanding Aramark Dining Services staff members, Guadalupe Robles, and Josefina Rodríguez, celebrating over 20 years of service with Aramark.  They were presented with special service plaques and a reception that followed.
