TAMIU Panel Discussion and Research Series Focuses on Nonprofits and Local Communities Tuesday, April 23

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) College of Arts and Sciences will present the third installation of its Panel Discussion and Research Presentation Series Tuesday, April 23, from 3-5 p.m. at the Academic Innovation Center, room 126.

The event seeks to highlight the vital role nonprofit organizations play in our community, while promoting communication and cooperation between professional practitioners and the TAMIU community.

Themed, "Nonprofit Organizations and Local Communities," the panel will discuss the important role nonprofit organizations play in our communities by providing essential services, care, and support to those in need.

Panelists include Monica Bautista, representing Bethany House of Laredo, Claudia C. Dovalina-Guzmán, from Communities in Schools of Laredo, Severita Sánchez, Children’s Advocacy Center of Laredo, Jacqueline Rodríguez, Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center, Sara A. Cantú, Voz de Niños, and Carolyn Schmies, United Way of Laredo.

In addition to the panel discussion, Texas State Trooper Andres Nava, from the Nexus Criminal Justice Institute will present his research titled, “Non-Profit Demystified: A Simple Approach to Organizing Efforts.” His presentation promises valuable insights into effective nonprofit management and organization.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the work, challenges, and visions of nonprofit professionals.
