TAMIU’s Phi Kappa Phi Chapter Welcomes 50 new members; Inducts 18 in Ceremonies

Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 296 welcomed 50 new members into TAMIU’s Chapter of the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society during in-person or virtual ceremonies held recently  in the Student Center. 

A welcome was provided by Dr. Ruby Ynalvez, PKP chapter president. 

The Distinguished Speaker for the event was Juan J. Castillo, interim president and CFO at TAMIU.

Dr. Ynalvez led the initiation of new members, assisted by Laura Elizondo. A reception preceded the program.

The new members initiated in person were: 

SENIORS

Jadyn Aliana Casillas, Dora Lee García and Ariadna Galilea Vela.

GRADUATES

Viviana Castañeda, Jonathan Delgado, Anya Juan Risco, Grace C. Maciel, Analaura Martínez, Leanna Carmela Mendiola, and Rosa María Ramos.

The new members initiated virtually were: 

SENIORS

Sebastián Aguilar and Vanessa Nicole Lara.

GRADUATES

William Joseph Hoffman, Sr., Diana Medina-Rendón, Madeline Kae Milano, Dennis Matthew O’Brien, Diana Rivera, and Prachi Prasant Sahasrabudhe.

FACULTY MEMBER

Dr. Huseyin Cinoglu, TAMIU associate professor of Criminal Justice.

Chapter officers are Dr. Ruby A. Ynalvez, president; Dr. Tariq H. Tashtoush, president-elect and immediate past president; Dr. James A. Norris, secretary; Laura Elizondo, treasurer; Priscilla A. Muñoz, scholarship coordinator; Dr. Peter Haruna, student vice presidents liaison; Mika Akikuni, communication officer, Cynthia Gallardo, historian; Alicia García, student vice president, and Karen Galvan, student vice president.
