TAMIU PR Earns 10 EduAD Awards in National Competition

Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Office of Public Relations, Marketing, and Information Services (PRMIS) has been named a multiple award recipient in the national 40th Annual Educational Advertising Awards (EduAD Awards), the largest educational advertising competition in the country.
The TAMIU PR office earned 10 awards, placing in all categories entered.
This year’s international competition received over 2,000 entries from 1000+ colleges, universities, and secondary schools from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.
Gold awards were granted to 432 institutions, silver to 266 institutions, and bronze to 166 institutions. Judges included a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing, and advertising professionals.

Gold – Other Social Media, Spring Advertisements
Gold – Outdoor Advertising, New Year New U Billboard
Silver – Annual Report; 2024
Silver – Digital Video, This Fall at TAMIU
Silver – Instagram Content, Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Silver – Special Event Campaign, Zombie Run ’24
Merit – Integrated Marketing Campaign, This Could be You
Merit – Special Video, Rhizome at TAMIU
Merit – Total Advertising Campaign, Spring ’25 Campaign.
TAMIU’s PRMIS director Steve Harmon said the record number of awards from the 40th Annual Educational Advertising Awards affirm the TAMIU PR team’s compelling storytelling across platforms.
“All these winning efforts across platforms share common bonds: strong creativity, a collaborative drive, keen innovation, and an unerring passion for TAMIU. We’re incredibly honored to have our entries judged by national leaders in higher education marketing and to do so well. I am blessed to work with this remarkable team and to rely on their many talents to drive our shared mission forward every day,” Harmon said.
Leading the PRMIS team alongside Harmon are Mika Akikuni, associate director of marketing; Ana P. Clamont, creative director and brand manager; Alejandra Covarrubias, administrative associate IV; Michael Gutiérrez, coordinator of web initiatives; Joshua González, communications specialist I; José G. Hernández, III, communications specialist I; Christine Rojas, manager, social media and communications; Rolando Santos, video and photographic coordinator; Ana Vargas, director of digital media; Marco E. Villarreal, publications and graphic design specialist and Georgina Zamudio, graphic designer III.
These Educational Advertising Awards now join seven previous PRMIS awards received from the national12th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards celebrating outstanding achievements in digital marketing within the education sector.
Registration for TAMIU’s Maymester, Summer and Fall 2025 courses begins Monday, April 7, 2025, at 8 a.m. online via Uconnect.
