TAMIU Reflects on 2024 with Its Online Annual Report
As the yearly countdown to the promise of a bright New Year begins, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) reflects on the year in its Annual Report 2024, now available in print and digital editions.
This year’s Annual Report, dubbed “The Future is Now,” shares how the University is laying the foundation today for the future through innovative initiatives, collaborations, programming, and research.
TAMIU interim president Juan J. Castillo said the Report theme was selected by the late TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz to share its future-facing outlook and will now honor his legacy and service to the University and higher education.
“As we prepared the Report our campus was mourning the October loss of a leader, mentor, and friend. We realized that the theme’s selection affirmed the University’s eternal role: to bring the future closer for all. We are proudly taking his guidance forward and celebrating his legacy while embracing the future.
“We also wanted to share the joy he shared for TAMIU and are fortunate to have a photo of Dr. Arenaz at our Maroon Madness celebration introducing our new Dusty Mascot costume. That picture now memorably anchors the Annual Report cover,” Castillo explained.
Among the Report highlights are:
The initiation of TAMIU’s Banking Academy, celebrations of record Fall and Spring enrollment growth, breaking ground for the University’s $71.2 million construction and expansion, highlighting the historic large-scale art installation, “Rhizome,” a new collaboration with UISD addressing critical special education teaching shortages, and the impact of student volunteerism, to name a few.
Also included are new grants funding research, profiles on University faculty researchers, and news on the expansion of TAMIU’s faculty. A showcase of student accomplishments and initiatives, alumni updates and successes, reports on donor-driven support, and an insightful infographic profiling students completes the publication produced by the University’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing, and Information Services.
