TAMIU’s Student Fee Hearings Scheduled Today
Rescheduled student hearings on proposed changes to tuition and fees for the 2016 -17 school year at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) have been set for Thursday, October 22 at 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda.
The hearings were previously scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 13.
As TAMIU launched a Fixed Rate Tuition and Fee Plan last Fall for all Texas-resident, undergraduate students, the proposed tuition and fee increases are applicable only to next year’s incoming freshman class, graduate students, non-resident undergraduate students, and those students who don’t graduate within 12 consecutive semesters from the start of their college enrollment.
Among specific proposed 2016-2017 changes are a new, variable one-year option in addition to the fixed rate tuition and fee plan. Rates for both options will be based on the higher education price index of 2.2% and an increase of $4.15/semester to the health fee.
All are subject to the approval of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.
