The Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Forensics Forum completed its award-winning appearance this past weekend at the Lee Tiger Invitational Debate Tournament. The Tournament featured universities from across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas and was hosted by East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.

TAMIU’s team was led by Oscar Cortez, who finished fourth in Novice Speaking. Teammate Amanda Rodríguez placed as fifth speaker. Both Rodríguez and Leslie Cortez were Tournament quarter-finalists. Collectively, the team finished with the highest win percentage of all Texas teams, including Wiley College and Stephen F. Austin University. Other TAMIU team members are Leslie Cortez, Michael Guantos, and Albert Soliz.

The TAMIU Forensics Forum is open to any TAMIU undergraduate student, and no prior experience is required.
