Race, Crime, Ethnicity Topic of TAMIU April 28 Professional Development Offering

The next installment of professional development courses for first responders is “Race, Crime and Ethnicity” at Texas A&M International University’s Bob Bullock Hall 209 on Tuesday, April 28 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public, but first responders are encouraged to attend.

“This course will focus on problems that have persistently plagued the U.S. criminal justice system regarding race and ethnicity,” explained Dr. Claudia E. San Miguel, director, TAMIU criminal justice program.

“Former TAMIU assistant professor Dr. Richard Hartley will present the course.

This course is presented as part of a comprehensive program designed to provide the training and expertise required for personnel working to secure the nation’s southern border. Partners include TAMIU, the Texas National Guard, Laredo Community College, and various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
