World Bank Economist Lectures TONIGHT at TAMIU

An economist with the World Bank is the featured speaker at tonight’s Texas A&M International University A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade International Bank of Commerce 2009 Keynote Speaker Series at 7:30 p.m. in the Fernando A. Salinas Lecture Room (WHTC 111).

This event has been rescheduled from its original offer date of Wednesday of this week. It is free of charge and open to the public.

Dr. Eric Swanson, program manager for global monitoring in the World Bank’s Development Data Group, will present “The World Bank and Western Hemisphere: Developmental Challenges in a Global Context.”

Dr. Swanson leads the team that produces the World Development Indicators, the Atlas of Global Development, Global Development Finance and the World Bank’s online databases.

Next in the Series is Dr. Sidney Weintraub, who will present “Western Hemisphere in the New American Administration” on Wednesday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fernando A. Salinas Lecture Room.

This Speaker Series presents practical and targeted lectures imparted by distinguished leaders, recognized experts and outstanding scholars in the trade and business arenas.
