A business plan workshop will be sponsored by he Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at TAMIU's Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 103.
The event was previously scheduled to be held at the Laredo Development Foundation's offices.
Fee for the seminar is $20 and each participant will receive Linda Pinzon's “Anatomy of a Business Plan: a Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Business and Securing your Company's Future,” a $50 value.
Planning is the map to success in the business world. One needs to write a business plan when:
- Starting or buying a business
- Financing or refinancing a business
- Raising debt or equity capital.
Richard Pérez, TAMIU-SBDC director, explained that a business plan helps one find hidden business flaws and makes one think carefully about each phase of a business.
“It is important that one write a business plan in order to gain in-depth knowledge about one's business-thus making it easier to answer lenders' questions. The process of writing one's business plan will clarify what is involved in making a business work successfully,” Pérez said.
