QuickBooks Workshop Scheduled at TAMIU Nov. 9
The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU SBDC) will sponsor a hands-on workshop on “how to manage your business finances with QuickBooks 2007” on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, from 9 am. – 3 p.m. at Dr. Billy F. Cowart Hall , room 117.
A $50 fee will include workbook and lunch. Limited seating is available. Interested persons should call the TAMIU-SBDC office at 956.326.2827 or 956.326.2550, or e-mail sbdc@tamiu.edu
The days of manually posting transactions to journals and ledgers are gone. Computer technology has ushered accounting into a new generation. The benefit for business owners is the opportunity to participate at a higher level in the financial administration of their businesses.
Invoicing, sales receipts check writing, and the subsequent flow of information into a cash in bank register are among the important basic features found in most accounting software applications. However, these processes represent only a small portion of the accounting procedures that can now be done electronically through software like QuickBooks.
The Nov. 9 Workshop will include the following:
- What is financial management?
- Easy step interview tips (new company set-up)
- Chart of accounts
- How to add items, customers and vendors
- Managing sales and expenses
- Budgeting and reports
- Resources and tips
