Australian Fulbright Scholar Lectures at TAMIU Tomorrow

A visiting Fulbright Scholar will present a special lecture  on developmentalism tomorrow, Friday, March 24 at 12 noon in the Lamar Bruni Vergara Science Center, room 102. 

The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Dr. John Minns, who teaches international political economy and the politics of development at Australian National University in Canberra, is currently a visiting Fulbright professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Dr. Minns' presentation will focus on his recently published book The Politics of Developmentalism: The Midas States of Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan that deals with the role of the state in so-called "miracle" economies, including South Korea and Taiwan.

Minns holds a doctorate from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
