Course for High School Math Teachers at TAMIU's Summer Math Institute July

High school math teachers wishing to brush up on their math skills or learn new concepts are invited to attend a three-day summer course that will be offered July 14-16 at Texas A&M International University.

The Summer Mathematics Institute will cover math areas from Algebra I to Calculus and will be taught by Guillermo Barberena, of Fort Worth's South Hills High School.

The course will be offered 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. July 14-16.

Sessions will include investigations of d=rt, motion formulas, linear motion, free-fall, projectile, Position-Time and Velocity-Time graphs, Newton's Laws and their connections and applications to limits, derivatives and differential equations.

Early registration will be May 26-June 12 and tuition will be $400. Regular registration will be June 16-June 26 and tuition will be $450. For those registering late, after June 30, tuition will be $500.

Lunch will be provided during the classes and packets and materials are included.

Those attending the course will be able to receive 2.4 continuing education units.
