2000 Cross Country Invitational Is Saturday at A&M International
The Texas A&M International University 2000 Cross Country Invitational for middle and high school athletes will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 at the University. Races are scheduled every half hour beginning at 8 a.m. Schedule is as follows:
8 a.m. -- Middle School Boys and Girls
8:30 a.m. -- Freshman Boys and Girls
9 a.m. -- Varsity Boys
10 a.m. -- Junior Varsity Boys
10:30 a.m. -- Junior Varsity Girls
An award ceremony will follow the final race.
Races for Varsity Boys and Junior Varsity Boys are 3 miles. All other races are 2 miles. Race courses feature a variety of terrain including asphalt, dirt, grass, and some hills.
Team champion and runner-up for all divisions will be awarded plaques with medals awarded to the top 10 runners in each division.
Entry fee is $50 per team or $10 per individual athlete. Entry forms may be obtained by contacting University Police Sergeant Jaime Rios at (956) 326-2102 or by email at jrios@tamiu.edu.
