The Texas A&M International University Student Ambassadors, a student service organization, have elected officers for the 1999-2000 academic year.

Newly elected officers are Gilbert Cardenas, president; Sandra Hernandez, Vice President for Finance and Development; Imelda Chapa, Vice President for Public Relations; Lily Cazares, Secretary; Berenisse Mares, Treasurer; and Paula Flores, Parliamentarian.

Advisor for the organization is Lisa Morales, Director of Development at A&M International.

Student Ambassadors provide an invaluable service to the University by representing the student perspective of campus life to prospective and new A&M International students. They also serve as liaisons between students and administrators, provide campus tours to visitors, participate in University recruitment events, and act as hosts for various campus functions.

To be eligible to join the Student Ambassadors, students must be enrolled at A&M International, be considered a student in good standing, maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates, and regularly attend Student Ambassador meetings and events.

For more information on the A&M International Student Ambassadors, please contact the Student Ambassadors office at 326-2272.
