Texas A&M International University will host a Public Viewing of the Hale-Bopp Comet on Wednesday, March 19 from 4:00 - 6:00 a.m. at the East Parking Lot of the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

Admission is free and members of the community are invited to attend.

A high-powered telescope and high-quality binoculars will be set up for visitors. Dr. Michael Roth, Assistant Professor of Physics at A&M International, will provide commentary during the viewing and answer visitor questions. Persons who attend should expect a spectacular glimpse of the recently discovered comet if the weather is not cloudy, said Roth.

Two evening viewings from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. are scheduled at the University for March 31 and April 3.

For more information on the Public Viewing of the Hale-Bopp Comet, please contact Dr. Roth at 326-2588 or the University's Department of Natural Science at 326-2445. University office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
