SEVIS federal regulations 22 CFR 41.61(b)(1)(ii) and 9 FAM 402.5-5(G)(4) requires students to demonstrate proof of sufficient funds and a sponsor letter (if applicable) in order to qualify for an I-20 from Texas A&M International University.
A completed Financial Statement form must be submitted. This form requires official certification of sources of funds from the student. If sponsor(s) are unable to sign the financial statement form, a sponsor letter will be accepted.
Funding can come from a variety of sources, such as private funds, university funds, sponsoring company, agency or government funds.
Sponsors living in the U.S. will be required to submit the I-134 Affidavit of Support and any supporting documents required by this form. Please read the I-134 Affidavit of Support Instructions for more information.

A bank affidavit form must be submitted in the event a bank statement is not able to be provided.
A bank letter will be accepted only in the event a bank statement or bank affidavit cannot be provided. A bank affidavit is strongly preferred. The bank letter must meet the guidelines listed below:
