ACT on IDEAs Student Undergraduate Research
The ACT on IDEA's Student Undergraduate Research program is a funding opportunity designed to give undergraduate students an authentic research experience under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
The Student Undergraduate Research is available every semester and open to full-time students with a TAMIU overall GPA 2.0. Students interested in applying must address a scholarly/research question or undertake a research question that could inform a creative activity during a semester.
Funding
The number of fellows selected is contingent on the availability of funds. Students are hired for a semester as Student Research Assistants (SRAs), working up to 19 hours per week at $12.50 per hour.
Faculty will receive a $500/student/semester stipend for up to 3 students.
How to Apply
Access the Student Research Assistant application section.
Students should only submit one (1) application.
The position requires a letter of recommendation from a professor who would like to mentor them in undergraduate research. The program does not pair students up with a professor.
The faculty mentor will receive an e-mail with instructions after receiving the student application.
